HRV
HRV tracking for Apple Watch, done properly.
Heart rate variability is one of the clearest signs of how well you are recovering. inbeat reads it through the whole night and shows it against the range that is normal for you.
HRV
What you get
Read through the night
Measured while you sleep, when nothing else is pushing your heart around, so the number means something.
Your normal range
A band of what is usual for you, so a night is only called low when it is low for you.
The trend that matters
Thirty nights at a glance show whether you are adapting to training or piling up fatigue.

Why it matters
An early signal, if you know your normal
When you are rested, your heart varies the time between beats a lot. Hard training, alcohol, a late meal, stress or an oncoming cold make that variation shrink, often a day or two before you feel anything.
HRV differs hugely from person to person, so comparing yourself with a friend tells you nothing. Comparing yourself with yourself tells you a lot, and that is all inbeat does.
FAQ
HRV, answered.
What is a good HRV?
The one that is normal for you. HRV depends on age, genetics and fitness, so a number is only good or bad next to your own range.
Why is my HRV in inbeat different from Apple Health?
Apple Health shows a different kind of HRV from short spot readings. inbeat reads your heart through the night, so the numbers differ.
What lowers HRV?
Alcohol, late or heavy meals, hard training, short sleep, stress and illness are the usual causes. The Journal shows which of them move yours.
